launch of textiles panel

Arts for All is delighted to announce the launch of the second panel from the programme: the port and docks of Belfast: imagined through textiles. This group of 29 intercultural participants has been meeting since February 2013 and in that time has produced two beautiful textile panels reflecting life in the port and docks of Belfast between 1850 and 1950. The programme has paid particular attention to the role of women in this area of Belfast. The programme has celebrated Belfast's rich maritime history and heritage.

A big thank you to all participants and tutors over the past two years.

The launch will take place in the Ulster Museum on 13th May 2015 at 3.00 pm. As part of the launch Karen Nickell will be in conversation with Andrew Crummy - artist with project partners the Great Scottish Tapestry. Karen recently completed a Phd – Embroidery in the Expanded Field: Textile Narratives in Irish Art post-1968. Karen has been involved with the programme since inception.

All welcome.
