John Luke Gallery

Launch of the John Luke Gallery October 2013

Arts for All hosts the John Luke Gallery to promote local artists and work developed through community arts projects. The John Luke Gallery celebrates the life, work and impact of John Luke. It was launched in October 2013 by John Luke's nephew Neville McKee. John Luke (1906-1975) grew up in the streets around Arts for All and became an internationally renowned artist. One of his most high profile works within the city of Belfast is the mural in the rotunda of Belfast City Hall. Seth Linder developed a booklet about the life and work of John Luke for Arts for All - Northern Soul - available by clicking here. Seth also developed a longer pice of research - available by clikcking here.

The John Luke Gallery hosts 12-15 exhibitions every year. If you are an artist or a community group looking for a space to display your work, please get in touch. Arts for All handles the sale of art work during exhibitions  for a 15% fee. Community organisations are not charged a service fee.

The gallery is available for social events for a small fee of £20 per session (morning/afternoon/evening).

Arts for All staff are based in the gallery, providing a creative and inspiring space for them to work.

If you are interested in exhibiting or hiring the space please contact Jill McDermott at: jill@arts-for-all.co.uk.
