Tapestries of belonging: an intercultural creative writing workshop

John Luke Gallery

Wednesday 19th August  11.00-1.00

In this workshop, participants will use poetry, prose and storytelling to explore the themes of identity and belonging.

No previous experience in creative writing is required, although this workshop is also open to those who enjoy writing and would like some ideas for developing their work.

Participants will draw on ideas from the current exhibition at Arts for All - HOPE by Lighthouse and friends - and on skills and experiences as artists to create individual and group pieces of writing.

The workshop is sponsored by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and is part of a series of intercultural creative writing workshops facilitated by Artist in the Community, Shelley Tracey.  The theme of these workshops is A WRITE TO A SENSE OF BELONGING.  Participants will have an opportunity to submit their writing to an anthology with the same title.
