Vacancy At Arts For All

Vacancy for Project Coordinator

Arts For All are currently recruiting for the post of Project Coordinator.

 

Key Responsibilities

Amongst other things the Coordinator will have responsibility for the following:

  1. To develop, implement and co-ordinate a broad range of artistic programmes and activities
  2. Responsible for the effective management of expenditure and income for the arts programme including budgetary planning, costing, monitoring, and spending. They will be responsible for ensuring that proper systems of financial management are maintained and that all monitoring requirements of the funding bodies are met.
  3. Responsible for the effective performance of staff including employed and contract staff carrying out duties for Arts for All
  4. Responsible for the coordination and development of a strategy to generate involvement in the arts and to ensure that the strategy keeps pace with developments in the community development and artistic sectors.
  5. To act as the first point of contact for Arts for All and to undertake promotional activities on behalf of the organisation.
Applicants for the post must have the following

  • Hold a third level qualification in an arts related discipline / or 5 years experience of working in the Arts Sector.
  • Demonstrate experience in designing, coordinating and managing arts,cultural and creative programmes across the community/voluntary sectors.
  • Have a minimum of 1 years’ employment experience in a community environment including practical experience in dealing with community groups.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year’s employment experience in a financial/administrative environment to include financial management and budgetary planning.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of issues relating to the use of arts programmes to deliver community development, community/good relations and improved creative learning.
  • Be IT Literate to include use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written, particularly the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the community arts sector in Northern Ireland
  • A proven track record in securing project funding

arts for all are currently running an introduction to Creative Writing course in our premises on York Road. Participants will work with well-known Creative Writing tutor and author, Charlie Graham to develop their skills, help them to plot out how to develop their talent and find a way to get their story down onto paper. There a still a number of places available and the details of the programme are below.

Based on The York Road since 2000, Arts for All has been the bedrock of community arts projects in North Belfast for 11 years. The core of the projects work is to foster appreciation and participaton in the Arts for the purpose of community development, education and personal and social cohesion. Those who work for Arts for All firmly believe positive change can be acheived that can unite, shape and change the lives of those in the local community who really need it – both today and in the future.

Over the years Arts For All has witnessed, firsthand, that participants in local arts projects have felt better, healthier and happier and developed a more positive outlook on community life after taking part in their Arts progammes.
