Arts for All had a great launch of its latest mural last night in Tiger's Bay.
This involved a fantastic half hour performance of Medal in the Drawer by students from Queen's University, written and directed by Brenda Winter-Palmer. There was a question and answer session after the performance when audience members asked the cast LOTS of questions while actors were still in character, answering questions as characters from the play.
After a moving performance, audience members moved to the mural which was launched by Belfast's Deputy Lord Mayor Guy Spence who hails from the area. Historian Philip Orr talked the audience through the images on the mural. The Deputy Lord Mayor then talked about his own family's involvement in the 1914-18 war and about the importance of quality murals for communities like Tiger's Bay.
